Eye ache, eye pain (behind the eye) and eye twitching were probably the last symptoms to appear. The eye pain just felt like the area behind my eye was sore, as I described it to my doctor as simply "an eye ache." For the most part it occurred in my right eye only. Fortunately for me the pain was not constant, but it was bothersome when present. Although there wasn't anything I could do to aleviate the soreness, I was lucky in that it didn't last very long when it did occur. Especially in the beginning. Now, 18 months post-diagnosis and four months off the Tapazole (Methimazole) it most often occurs when I wake up in the morning.
Similar to the eye ache, my eye twitching started late as well, and in my right eye. Out of the blue my lid would involuntarily contract or twitch to the point where if I happened to be talking to someone at close range at the time they would notice. At its worst, it would last for between 15-20 seconds then stop, and occur a few times throughout the day. It was not at all painful, just a pesky symptom I'd hope would go away. Fortunately for me, it did by the spring of 2007.
