I can hardly believe it, but today marks the day when one year ago I decided to halt consuming any food or beverage with artificial sweeteners. I did it after finding information on the internet that suggested a cause & effect relationship between Aspartame and Graves Disease. I even asked my endocrinologist about it--while he couldn't confirm it himself, he did say the data would suggest that to be true. That's all it took.
When you feel as bad as I did, and many of you reading this will know exactly what I mean, you'll search high and low for things you can do to feel better--from medical treatment to dietary changes. Between the combination of the two, I can only say that today I feel really good. Like my old self. It's been a long road and I hope every day that it stays that way.
