A few days ago I wrote a post updating you on several factors. One of them neck pain I'm experiencing. During the past couple of months I have been experiencing pain in my thryoid / neck area. Which is strange. In the 6+ years since I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease I've never experienced anything quite like this. So last week, when I went to see my endocrinologist, he asked that I get another thyroid untrasound (I had one around April of last year when I had a hoarse voice for an extended period of time. At that time they found thyroid nodules, one 3mm and one 5mm). This time, my doctor wanted to check to be sure they haven't grown, and that I don't have more.
Yesterday morning I went to the hospital for the ultrasound. The technician asked me why I was there and I told her. She didn't reveal anything during the actual procedure (I don't think the can), but I must say that as she pressed the wand with gel on it over my neck area I could feel distinct areas of soreness and tenderness, and at one point I was a little uncomfortable. She held the wand apparatus there for awhile getting the images she needed. I'm hoping for the best but there's always the fear of thyroid cancer developing.
I should have the results early this week. I'll post them here as soon as I know.
